About

Established in 1959 with an initial membership of 243, the Japanese Association for Oral Biology (JAOB) has grown over 60 years to encompass approximately 2,000 members. The society comprises researchers in multidisciplinary fields, including anatomy, embryology, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, microbiology, pathology, regenerative medicine, and clinical dentistry.

The JAOB aims to contribute to the advancement of life sciences and dental clinical practices by leveraging the expertise of its members in various research fields. By collaborating with clinical faculty, the society seeks to foster partnerships with outstanding basic researchers in various fields such as medicine, pharmacy, science, engineering, and agriculture. This study aims to enhance the global presence of Japanese oral bioscience research.

In pursuit of this objective, the society is dedicated to enhancing the academic rigor of its conferences, fostering interaction across diverse research fields, bolstering financial stability through expanded membership, providing support to young researchers, enhancing the content of its journal (Journal of Oral Biosciences), which has recently received an impact factor, and advancing international collaboration initiatives. These efforts underscore the society’s sincere commitment to fulfilling its mission.
